WHO ARE WE?

The Young Farmers Advisory Committee is a dynamic group of under-40, beginning, and small farmers from across North Alabama. We are made up of members and non-members of Alabama Farm Credit, who are passionate about shaping the future of agriculture. We bring fresh energy, bold ideas, and a drive to grow, while carrying forward the mission, vision, and values of AFC. Together, we’re not just protecting agriculture in Alabama, we’re fueling its future for generations to come.

Our purpose: YFAC was established to engage, enable, and elevate young producers and those seeking to gain a foothold in the global agricultural community.

Our Goal

To establish an open dialogue between Alabama Farm Credit and Young Farmers
To learn about innovative marketing, technological development, and management strategies
To create a lasting network of Young Farmers
To provide Alabama Farm Credit with invaluable insight to the needs of Young, Beginning, and Small Farmers
To develop an ambassadorship to forge new relationships

YFAC Member Requirements

Serve on a 2-year term in a paid committee seat
Fully participate in 4 meetings, tours, or educational workshops per year
Participate in one community project during the term
Represent Alabama Farm Credit and the Young Farmers Advisory Committee at agricultural events during the term
